Although Sunbrella Awning fabrics are exceptional for umbrellas and shade products, they are generally not recommended for replacement outdoor cushions.

Awning fabrics are manufactured with a heavier construction and firmer hand than furniture-grade fabrics. This additional stiffness helps the fabric maintain shape and tension when installed on umbrellas and awnings, but it can make the fabric less comfortable when used for seating applications.

Outdoor cushions require fabrics that are designed to flex, fold, contour, and conform to foam and fiber fillings. Furniture-grade fabrics are engineered to provide a softer feel while maintaining durability and outdoor performance. Awning fabrics, by comparison, may feel rigid, create sharper corners during fabrication, and provide a less comfortable seating experience.

For replacement outdoor cushions, deep seating cushions, chaise lounge cushions, dining chair cushions, and bench cushions, we recommend furniture-grade performance fabrics specifically designed for upholstery applications.

Cleaning & Maintenance

For routine cleaning:

1. Brush off loose dirt and debris.

2. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

3. Clean using mild soap and lukewarm water.

4. Gently scrub with a soft bristle brush if needed.

5. Rinse completely and allow the fabric to air dry.
